Well the weather people were right. It is snowing. Two days from May and it is snowing.
We had really cold rain last night and then before dawn it started snowing. A lot of large fluffy flakes! At one point we had more than two inches of snow on the ground.
During the day It never really stopped snowing. The temperature was higher midday and there was a mix. The afternoon was a mix. Sometimes it was rain. Sometimes it was sleet and snow. And few times snow alone. Even as I type this it is still coming down but the temperature is just a bit too warm to stick.
Starting Monday the highs will be in the 70's so this will be all over by the end of the day tomorrow.

We have been working hard on the projects here at the lake. The porch at the lake house will be great when we finish. We are replacing all the bad boards and sanding down everything with belt sanders. It should be really nice we finish.
Not to over do it be we do enjoy the sunsets. This was the view tonight from our windows in the 5th wheel.
We took a break today and at the end of the day watched the sunset at Ute Lake.
Here are few flowers growing wild in the state park. The desert is green and flowering.
The lake house porch had some problems so we started repairs. Before.... Then we got started on the work. The progress so far... The ramp was no longer safe to use. Now both ends of the porch are usable and there is a patio where the ramp had been. Tomorrow we start on the porch.
Today are off to Amarillo to take Betty (or Gramma) for her flight out to visit with Debby. She will be back in two weeks.
We also needed to buy some supplies for the projects and on the way back to Logan we stopped off to buy groceries. So two hours each way plus taking her to the airport then shopping for groceries. We left at 8am and got back to Logan just before 5pm. It is interesting when a trip to Sams takes almost an entire day. We are making some good progress on the porch rebuild project at the Lake House.
Some will remember the Lake House as Kevin's house or Grandma Miller's. The front porch had a ramp but that was in bad shape so we removed it today. We hope to have the porch repairs finished in by the end of next week including staining and sealing. We have to be finished with the porch repairs before anyone with children arrives. We don't want anyone hurt and the bad boards and railing made walking on the porch unsafe. This morning we woke to this. I know!?! Who would have thought we would see fog at the lake in April or maybe Ever!
It lasted until 9 am. Off to work. I will be using a Bobcat skid loader to move dirt to some low spots in several areas. The sunset started just interesting. But then it really colorful. We are working on the To Do list already. It make take us a while but we have several weeks before anyone from comes to visit.
Today I started working on the list of things that need to be worked on here. It is a big list and still growing.
Being New Mexico the rule is work in the morning while it is cool and then late in the afternoon. Put any tools out of the sun so they don't get so hot you can't use them later in the day. Then go inside and relax. Come back out to continue when it is a bit cooler. As an example this morning the temperature was 50 degrees. Midday it was 90 and the humidity was 9% and its not even hot yet. By 5pm it was 75 degrees and we still had daylight till after 7pm. We got to the lake before lunch Everything is setup. The 5th wheel is in the spot just east of the Lake House (Kevin's) at the front of the park. We are able to see the lake and horizon from the back looking west.
