Our Blog of our activities as we travel...

Lots of work was completed.

Here is a list of some of the work we have been doing.  Some projects I have already posted photos and information, especially the bathroom floor replacements.

At Mom's house, we changed out the security camera recorder to support more cameras and replacement of a camera that had failed along with some adjustments of cameras.

At the Lakehouse, we have changed the exterior hot water heater cover to a door. It may seem like a small change but It had always been difficult to work with as it had to be held and unscrewed from the wall at the same time.  Now it is much easier to open and close.
Next was the big project by adding a water faucet to the planters and cleaning, leveling and replacing the rock.
Picture
First all the rock was moved and sifted to remove sand. This was stored in half a dozen 55 gallon plastic garbage cans.

The concrete pad was expanded by several feet to allow for the pergola to be installed.

A ditch was dug around the concrete pad to run a water line to the planter boxes.
PVC pipe was laid and connected to the water.  The in-ground box was exchanged for a larger box and a cutoff and drain was added to allow winterizing the Lakehouse.  Gravel was added to catch the water.

Once the ditches were covered the dirt was leveled, sheet plastic barrier laid down, and gravel replaced.  That was a lot of work.
It was exhausting but I think it was worth it.

More work was done to the back porch.  The railing was installed, power plug, and light to help illuminate a table once purchased.
Well the Purgala is up and the Porch is finished.

I wish we could walk on the trails near the lake.

We have been almost exclusively in the park.  Only rarely going into Logan for provisions, with NO access to the State Park.

The rangers are serious about not coming into the park. If you are caught, and they randomly check, you are given a trespassing charge along with over $1000 in fines.

Well no fun on the lake.  No camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and not even a hike.

Our goal has been to get as many projects completed as possible.  We hope to have everything completed so when things open back up we will be able to do some of the traveling we have planned.  There are a lot of projects for Mom and several are maintenance on our RV.

It has been a very productive few weeks since I last posted.

We got really cold.  Mid-20's. Ouch!  Along with the cold, we had some snow.

At this point is was just a few flakes.
We are looking forward to the warm weather forecasted for the end of the week.

Some flowers before the cold weather comes.

I decided to take a few pictures of the flowers on the apple tree just outside our window.  The tree has been producing leaves, buds, and a few flowers.  I don't know if any of them will survive the mid-20's we expect over the next few days.

Finally leaving the park.

I have been not driven or even been anywhere since we arrived at Gramma's on the 23rd of last month. That is 18 days.  It was a bit strange cranking the truck after that long.

We were running short of groceries. This is a town of less than 1,000 people and even here they have limits in the stores.  No one in this county has been reported as having the Virus.

In the post office, only one person was allowed in at a time and at the counter they had a plexiglass shield hanging to protect the worker/customers.

The grocery store had a limit of 10 people at a time.  As you walk in, they had a card with a number. Before you leave the store, they take the card, clean it and then give it to the next person waiting to shop. Shawna was able to find most of the things on our list, but not toilet paper.  In fact most paper products were missing entirely.  Eggs were $6.25 for 18 egg package and even then there were only two cartons in the store.  Plenty of can goods and produce.  People are all nervous hoping whoever walks in does not have the virus.

Everything is a bit strange but we are making the best of what we have.

Tonight is supposed to be a special full moon.  It was pretty.
We are still working on projects but also expecting some very cold weather coming in the near future.  Snow is in the forcast.

Beautiful sunrise through the apple tree just outside our window.  It is not unusual for me to get up before sunrise.  Shawna usually sleeps in until I bring her coffee in bed.

Did you find the little guy waiting for the sun to warm things up?

We have been working on projects both on the RV and for Gramma.  The hall bathroom floor at the Lake House needed replacing.
It looks much better now.
