We relaxed and recovered from the days travel at a very nice rv park. Two of the "residence" are swans. The rv park has a large lake that is at least 10 acres. We have seen fish move in the lake and the swans have plenty of water to paddle around. We thought that the swans had a baby with them but it turns out something unusual. The swans have accepted a female mallard as a friend. I have seen the duck with the swans several times and often within feet of each other. Rain does not bother swans even a little bit.

We called this morning and told the service person assigned to us that we are headed west and would get our final repairs finished later.
If you were not aware, our refrigerator is not working correctly. The freezer area temperatures are usually in the single digits to teens. That if fine if you don't want to keep ice cream hard frozen. The refrigerator area is between the upper 40's to 60. Perfect for a chilled pantry but not very effective as a refrigerator. We can use the fridge section for veggies and condiments that would not spoil at those temps. I won't go into the entire story of why we stayed in Ocala an entire week instead of a couple of days but here is the short story. The original plan was to have the fridge replaced Monday of this week and head west Wednesday. The people at the dealership are getting put through a runaround by the company that makes our RV fridge. First, the manufacture decided that a couple of tests would have to be performed before they would approve replacement. Some tests were done in April but they wanted more. After the few more tests were completed, the manufacture decided that an additional 4 hour test was required. The final results were that the fridge is broken and they approved replacement, finally. This is what we have known since April. The RV service department has done all they could do to move this process along but not in the time frame we needed! We knew that it would force us to stay for an additional 2 weeks. NOPE! We will do this later. Our plan right now is to make the trip to New Mexico in 7 days. That is really pushing it for us. Even with all the calls back and forth trying to get our fridge replaced and taking it in to be tested, we have had some opportunities to relax. It is not like we could do anything else and it has been raining everyday. We caught up on some shows we have missed, read several books, and worked on a puzzle.
We are making a quick trip back down to south Florida to get our refrigerator replaced under warranty. This, we hope, will be our last repair on the rig for a while.
After that is done we will head west to New Mexico. A short trip of about 1,500 miles. We have returned to Pensacola to work on a few projects for Mom and Dad. After that we will be babysitting some of the Grandchildren and preparing to return to south Florida.
The refrigerator was not going to arrive for a while so we decided to return to Pensacola and go back down to finish the repairs later. If all goes as planed we will be headed west sometime after the 25th. Most of the repairs were completed in one day. The problem is that the most important is still waiting on warranty approval to be replaced.
The refrigerator is not cooling as it should. We hope that they will be able to replace it with a new one by the end of the week. Until then we will be at the RV park and relaxing, going to the pool and hottub, reading books.... and enjoying the steamy hot weather. :P The great thing is that both of our AC's are working. |
