The RV park we are staying in is called Mouse Mountain. Ok first there are no mountains in Florida no matter what people see in the background of TV shows and Movies that are supposed to be filmed in Florida but filmed in California. The RV park does sit on top of a very high spot or hill 5 miles directly south of Disney World. Last night we walked to the parks pool and watched the fireworks show. Far in the distance but visible. We could even see the castle but it was only a small white dot without binoculars.
The park is very old and was first opened in the early 70's. Lots of permanent trailers. We were put in a nice spot with concrete patio and parking spot. Overall pretty nice compared with some RV parks. We may stay here again if we come back down late in 2017. We did check spots that were as good as this one if it is not available then. The last day of the year we enjoyed the pool at the park. It was in the 70s so it helped that the pool was heated. Great time relaxing and enjoying the end of 2016. For the rest of the week we are expecting nice day temperatures with cool but not cold nights. We are not likely to need to AC or heater much if at all. We will not be able to enter the park till Tuesday because of block out dates on our annual pass. Today we are going to visit Disney Springs to get our bands. Springs is a shopping and restaurant so does not require any Disney Pass but if we get our bands early we will be ready to go on Tuesday.

We have had a great time visiting family and tommorow we move on to the next RV park.
The park is just a few miles south of Disney World. We plan some relaxing and fun for the next couple of weeks. We enjoyed our time at Lake Lousia state park. Now we have moved to a RV park near Mims. We will be here for a week and visiting with family for the holidays.
We enjoyed our time at the state park. We took a 3 mile hike around the lakes and through old orange groves. There was a mixture of orange, lemon, and tangerine trees. All were full of fruit. Much of it no ripe yet.
We are in Perry Florida today and on further south tommorow.
The AC is running and the temp was 77 degrees and the humidity 88% when we arrived. We are in a small RV park off highway 49 south of Jackson Mississippi.
Yea! It's not supposed to get below freezing here tonight. Yes! Into Pensacola tommorow. Well for the rest of the trip south no more "were still in Texas". Moving on south and east.
Watch out Pensacola we seem to be pulling cold along with us. It will be 29 here tonight. The good thing is each night the low is not as low as the previous night in Texas. Maybe tommorow it will not even get below 30. We can only hope. We are on the move and headed for Pensacola and family in the area.
Right now we are in Vernon TX. The wind has been buffeting the RV. Strong artic wind out of the north. Brrr. But not as cold as it would have been in Logan. Instead of the low teens it will only get to the upper 20's. Heat wave!
Shawna was able to record the deer eating just 30 feet from the 5th wheel.
There are dozens of quail that ran under cactus for protection. Here is just one of the coveys. Well we had a flurry of snow for Shawna's Birthday. Sunset timelapse from a couple of days ago. And of course we had a beautiful sunset today. |
