Today we visited the Arlington National Cemetery. We were able to see the changing of the guard. So many are buried here.
We also stopped at “Arlington House” which was Robert E. Lee’s house prior to the war. During the war his home and surrounding land was taken by the Union Army. There were several uses of the land before it was made the National Cemetery it is today.
Later we had lunch in the “Castle”. The first building of the Smithsonian. Then on to see several of the monuments and memorials.
