Ute lake is a very large lake. At an altitude of 3,900 ft and a length of over 13 miles from the dam to the farthest point there is plenty of room for fishing and other fun. The lake has many coves and extensions off from the main lake. It is a series of canyons that were filled after the dam was completed. Much of the lake is over 40 feet in depth even up to 10 feet from shore in many areas. The deepest point is over 70 feet. On most weekdays we almost have the lake to ourselves. Weekends and holidays are a very different story.
The lake has white, small, and large mouth bass, Crappie, Walleye, Bluegill, and Catfish. Logan village is on the lake. They have a cute saying... A little run along the shore of the lake. After 4 hours it was time to get back to the dock.
