On the 6th, we only took one short hike of 3.6 miles with a 140 foot rise on the hike. It was a nice hike through the woods and along the lake. Saturday the 7th, we also went into Ardmore to shop. We needed to replace some shorts and look for shoes. First, we went by the local museum. The Greater Southwest Historical museum was great. They had a lot of local memorabilia, historical items, and all donated by the community from horse buggies to a 1970's electric car. In the center of the main room was a completely reconstructed log house from the local area. Almost a third of the museum was dedicated to those from the area who had served in the military. It was very detailed and had lots of artifacts from all the wars. The volunteers were a couple who were in their 90's. He had served as a Marine at Iwo Jima. We were both fascinated by his reminiscing about his service. Just for fun. Here is a few sunrise and sunset pictures.
