Thursday afternoon we took a hike.
This is the map at the halfway point of the hike. We hiked the Rojo Grande Trail (1.16 mile). Then Sunflower trail (1.16 Mile). And the returned on half of the Juniper trail-cliffside (about 1.4 mile). So our total hike was 3.7 miles.
We talked along the base of cliffs, creeks flowing into the river, and open fields. We have not been hiking for several months so this was a good preparation for tomorrow's more intense hike.
The cliffs look like clay but are hard rock. There are vanes of a white rock called satin spar gypsum in the cliff sides.
