After moving to Cheyanne we decided that we would visit the local museum, brewery and a distillery. The museum is in the old railroad depot. One end of the depot is now a brewery and restaurant and the other end is a museum. Wow, this building is really big. It was opened in 1887 and was an important rail depot for many years. In 1993, the building was donated to the city. A very impressive building We were hungry so our first stop was the restaurant. They had very good burgers and Shawna liked one of the beers they served. Next stop the museum which was focused on the railroad's affect on the community. As we entered the museum on the floor was a map of the rail system in the state. Even the current rail is very large and impressive but in the past is was even more extensive and very busy. The original roundhouse exists but I don't think it is used today. Train travel was used by all levels of society but the wealthy traveled very well on a train. It gets really cold here and they have had some very deep snow some years. Impressive! Above the museum is a very large model train. It is laid out to show the entire passage of a train through the state and the communities the tracks passed. Next another brewery. Someone at Danielmark's has an interest in comics. One last brewery. Good thing that I am the designated driver. Just saying.
